Police in Amesbury have seized two stolen caravans from an encampment at Bonneymead Park.

The trailers were moved away by officers and have been returned to their rightful owners.

There's also been an operation on the A303 to check over plant machinery and trailers, as part of a national week of action tackling rural crime.

We're told a number of tickets have been issued to car and lorry drivers for speeding - with 6 points and a £200 fine for those caught.

That coincides with a road safety campaign over the summer by Wiltshire's Roads Policing Team.

The crackdown on the so-called 'fatal five' comes after a higher than normal number of serious and fatal crashes across the county so far this year.
