BMW stolen from Upavon recovered by Wiltshire Police in Bristol

The vehicle was taken from a driveway

Police investigating a burglary at a house in Upavon have recovered a car taken during the incident.

The BMW M3 was driven away from a property in the village in the early hours of last Thursday (August 11th).

Thieves took the keys from inside the house, after getting in through a patio door.

Enquiries have been carried out by Wiltshire Police since the incident, and yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 16th August), officers from the Fortitude team, Roads Policing and colleagues in Avon and Somerset worked together to locate and recover the vehicle.

It was found in a lock up in Bristol and will now be the subject of forensic examination.

Det Sgt Darren Penny from Wiltshire Police said:

“The homeowner reported that they heard the vehicle being driven away at approximately 3am – we have been conducting extensive enquiries since and yesterday the vehicle was located.

"We are continuing with our enquiries and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
