Stolen camper van found burnt out at Rockbourne

The vehicle had been taken from outside an address in Downton

A camper van, stolen from outside a house in Downton, has been discovered burnt out in Rockbourne.

The Volkswagen T4 went missing on Monday night (24th October).

Fordingbridge police staff then found the vehicle, completely destroyed, at Rockbourne Road hours later.

Officers have thanked people caught up in the incident for their patience after being diverted away from the scene.

It's not the first time that vehicles have been stolen in South Wiltshire and then set alight in the New Forest area.

A Land Rover taken from Redlynch was found in Cadman, destroyed by fire |newtab), in March.

A minibus was also stolen from Morgan's Vale and Woodfalls School and found burnt out, with the engine removed, at Turf Hill, |newtab) in February.

Further incidents have also been reported, dating back up to a year.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information into the latest theft and fire.
