A Stars Appeal volunteer who has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds each year has been recognised after supporting the charity for over a decade.

Keith Noble has received the Salisbury Hospital Governors' Volunteer of the Year award for his help collecting and delivering donations to the charity.

He's been known to give up more than 20 hours a week to support the charity.

Mr Noble was handed his award at Salisbury District Hospital's Volunteers Thank You Lunch, held in the Cathedral Close.

He helps with the charity's collection boxes in shops, pubs and other locations around the area, driving all around to collect and return boxes, and delivering the donations to the charity’s offices.

He's also a key member of the bucket collection team, collecting at the hospital and in local shops, helping raise more than £20,000 a year.

Mr Noble is considered an important part of the charity's bookshop team, helping provide a welcoming service to patients and visitors.

He also plays a vital role in the Stars Appeal's flagship event, Walk for Wards, as the 'tail end Charlie, ensuring everyone gets round safely.
