Stars Appeal trekkers set up pre-loved fashion event in Alderbury
The sale and fashion show today (Saturday 22nd April)
Sustainable fashion's being brought to the forefront in a South Wiltshire village this weekend - and in aid of the Stars Appeal.
A pre-loved clothing event's being held at Alderbury today (Saturday 22nd April), for us to pick up some wardrobe additions.
Money raised there will go towards the fundraising of six local people that are taking on a trek through Colombia next year, for the Salisbury District Hospital charity.
Lynne Rose is behind the event:
"Part of the fun of an event like this is the hunt for that one of a kind item, something that’s unique but perfect for you. I think our fashion show will also give real inspiration too, showing buyers how second hand and pre-loved items gives you an opportunity to be creative with your fashion choices and reimagine styles and combinations that you may not have tried in the past.
"It’s great to be able to support sustainability too and being able to raise funds for Salisbury Hospital’s Stars Appeal at the same time makes this event really special and even more worthwhile!"
Fellow Stars Appeal trekkers Colin Ford, Jo Maslen, Corinne Whillock, Anita Goddard and Viv Grant will also be using the event to support their fundraising for the Colombia trip.
Salisbury based sustainable businesses Sisters Wardrobe, Made by SJP, Sustainable Style Boutique, Lulu and Boo Jewellery, The Green Gaff and Aspiga Wilton will be part of the event.
It's on between 10.00am and 4.00pm at Alderbury Village Hall.
Entry is £2, going to the Stars Appeal, with a portion of the sales also being donated.
Each trekker has different reasons for trekking and fundraising, from saying thank you for the care and support they or a loved one has received from Salisbury Hospital to having worked as part of the NHS Team who deliver care.
The money that goes into the Stars Appeal is put towards extra facilities and equipment above and beyond what can be provided by the NHS.
