Just weeks before the latest Berwick St John Country Fayre, the fundraising committee's handed over donations to the Stars Appeal.

The main event is planned for September 13th, 14th and 15th - but the team behind it hold activities throughout the year in support of Salisbury District Hospital's charity.

That includes ploughing matches, tractor parades, classic car runs, bingo nights and a dinner dance.

Those events have raised over £3,900 for the cause, as a pre-cursor to what's likely to be plenty more soon.

The Country Fayre's been held every other year since 1992, and includes activities like steam engines, a dog show, heavy horses, live music and rural crafts.

Last time out, the event raised £63,000, with the money going towards equipment and services at Salisbury District Hospital over and above what the NHS can provide.

The Stars Appeal has an annual fundraising target of more than £1 million - that goes into things like the free Wi-Fi across the site, the chaplaincy service, water coolers, phone charging points, and much more.

The charity's said about the Berwick St John committee:

"We're hugely grateful for their continue support and look forward to joining them at Berwick St John Country Fayre next month."
