Salisbury celebrates St George's Day
Events are planned in the Market Place for England's patron saint
Salisbury is marking St George's day today (Sunday 28th April) - albeit a few days after the actual saints day.
The Market Place will be filled with activities from 10.00am to 4.00pm, organised by the City Council.
Events start with a procession of councillors and mace bearers, and even the famous Salisbury Giant puppet, from 9.55am.
The city's Town Crier will herald the beginning of the day's activities.
There'll also be workshops, medieval re-enactments, street food, live music, Morris Dancing, face painting, a Blue Badge Tour of the city centre.
Here's the timings for some of the festivities:
10.15am, 11.30am and 2pm – Mr Brown’s Pig Puppet Show
10.30am, 12.15pm and 2.30pm – Morris Dancing
11am & 3pm – Medieval Re-enactments
12pm – The Salisbury St. George Blue Badge FREE Guided Tour
1pm – Knight School - young people will get the chance to dress up and learn how to be the perfect knights for St. George’s Day in the Main Arena
