A set of 10 new Cherry trees have been put into place at Victoria Park in Salisbury - gifted by the city's Rotary Club.

They've been planted close to the football pitch and the Wood Bar coffee kiosk.

It's hoped that as they grow they'll provide a shady picnic spot in the Summer and some beautiful colours in the Spring.

Salisbury Rotary Club contacted the City Council to donate the trees to mark the group's 100 years of supporting community projects, locally, nationally and internationally.

A plaque's also been put up close to the trees.

The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Caroline Corbin said:

“Thank you to Salisbury Rotary Club for donating these beautiful trees. I look forward to watching them bloom as they produce clusters of pink flowers which will give a lovely display in the heart of the park each Spring.”
