Southampton unveil new kit for 2023/24 season
It draws inspiration from the 1987-89 strip
Southampton have unveiled next season's home shirt.
It's a twist on the iconic 1987-89 jersey worn by Matt Le Tissier, Alan Shearer and Franny Benali.
The home shirt focuses on the Hampshire rose, with over a thousand small roses printed into the shirt in a diagonal pattern.
On the reverse of the shirt, at the nape of the neck, the Hampshire rose sits symbolising the city of Southampton.
The shirt is matched with black shorts, featuring white chevrons, and white socks complete with red chevrons.
The goalkeeper’s kit has been inspired by the halo element of the club crest and the original stained-glass windows of St Mary’s Church.
Charlie Boss, chief commercial officer for Southampton Football Club said: "We’re excited to bring back a shirt that is a fan favourite and such an iconic design.
"With our 2023/24 season kit, we wanted to really celebrate the crest and history of our club.
"We can’t wait to see these shirts adorn our players and fans alike throughout the 2023/24 season as our men’s and women’s teams strive for promotion to the topflight."
