Salisbury and South Wiltshire might be well known for its array of pubs - but it seems there are some pretty good ones around too!

A total of 19 local pubs have been chosen for inclusion in the 50th edition of the Campaign for Real Ale's Good Beer Guide.

They were selected out of 140 eligible pubs in the Salisbury and South Wiltshire branch area.

Among them is The Pheasant Inn on Salt Lane.

Landlord Martin Crane, who's been running the venue for three years, said:

“We are delighted to be voted into the Good Beer Guide. I go to a lot of trouble to keep my beers just right. Freshness, a minimal stock and regular cleaning are all crucial.”

Ian Turner, chairman of the Salisbury & South Wilts branch of CAMRA, said:

“We are lucky to have so many good pubs in this area and inclusion in the Good Beer Guide is a tremendous accolade for the very best of them. The Pheasant is an excellent example of a really cracking good local with a selection of well-kept real ales.”
