Thanks to a joint in initiative by Wiltshire Council and Nadder Community Energy, who funded the scheme, solar panels have been installed on the roof of the changing rooms at the outdoor pool in Tisbury

The panels will provide renewable energy for the facility and the nearby cricket pavilion owned by Tisbury Parish Council.

Cllr Nick Botterill, Cabinet member for Climate Change said the project will save money and help the environment,

"The system is expected to generate around 6100 kWh of electricity per year and is estimated it will save approximately £800 per year in electricity costs, leading to savings for both Wiltshire council and Tisbury Parish Council."

Alan Maryon-Davis, Chair at Nadder Energy said,

"Tisbury Swimming Pool is such a great community facility we're delighted to have been able to support it through our Community Benefit Fund. And at the same time, we're helping the community reach zero carbon - so it's a win-win."
