A new skatepark is being planned for Sixpenny Handley, removing existing skate ramps to make way for the new concrete structure.

The upgrade is being proposed by the parish council and has the support of adjoining landowners whose properties will need to be used for temporary access during construction.

Dorset Council is being asked to approve the plans which will involve the short-term closure of a public footpath, with a diversion to be put in place, with construction access to the site via Church Farm.

The proposal, if agreed, will see the removal of existing, basic ramp structures, with the new concrete skate park to include a bowl and a range of more sophisticated ramps and drop-ins.

A hedgerow would also be removed as re-planted as part of the plans.
