Sheep killed in Warminster dog attack

This comes just after police warned owners about livestock worrying

A sheep has died in Warminster, after being attacked by two dogs.

Police are investigating an incident at Cotley Hill at around 11.00am on Saturday morning (15th February), with the animal fatally injured in a field.

The dogs involved were black and tan coloured.

Officers have shared a description of their owner too:

  • White male
  • Short in height
  • Dark receding hair
  • Wearing dark clothing

We're asked to get in touch with officers if we have any information about the incident, or can help identify the man described.

Wiltshire Police can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 54250019809, with anonymous reports passed on to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The incident also comes just a matter of days after the force's Rural Crime Team put out a warning about livestock worrying in the county.

Dog owners have been asked to make sure their pets are kept on leads near to other animals, especially during lambing season.
