A sheep's been killed in a dog attack in South Wiltshire - in full view of traffic passing on the A303.
Police say they're continuing to investigate an incident at Fonthill Bishop.
Officers say several people called them after witnessing two loose dogs attacking a ewe on farmland at Chicklade Bottom on Friday morning (21st March).
Pictures on social media show the animal in distress in the middle of a field.
We've decided they're too graphic to post here.
Police attended the scene, just before 10.30am, and located the owners of the dogs fifty metres away, with a dead sheep.
We're told the investigation into what happened is ongoing, with no arrests made at this stage.
The incident is serving as a reminder to pet owners to keep animals on leads close to livestock, with the risk even greater during lambing season.
