Security officers for Salisbury city centre extending hours
The BID is funding the extra patrol times
Extra security's being trialled in Salisbury city centre to tackle anti-social behaviour during the summer holidays.
The local BID has decided extended service hours are needed into the early evening.
It's following feedback from local businesses.
Longer patrols began in the latter part of July and will continue on a trial basis initially.
The funding from the BID is on top of investment from Salisbury City Council and security company Venture, who provide the service.
Security officers have been working in the city centre since 2018 - with the aim of being a visible presence to deter anti-social behaviour.
They work alongside police, CCTV control room operators, and the ShopWatch and PubWatch schemes to help prevent crimes.
