Police in Chippenham are investigating a second incident where a child was approached by a man they didn't know.

The latest happened at around 8.15am yesterday morning (30th January) on Union Road.

A 14 year old girl was spoken to by a man in a car and repeatedly offered her a lift, which she declined.

The man involved is described as:

  • White with a tanned complexion
  • Aged in his mid 30s
  • Thinning straight black hair
  • Wearing rectangular glasses
  • Black long sleeved t-shirt
  • Blue jeans

It follows an incident in the Woodlands Road and Downing Street area on Tuesday afternoon, in which a 12 year old boy was approached. |newtab)

Police say the children weren't harmed in either incident, and there's currently no evidence to suggest they're linked.

Patrols are being stepped up locally though, and officers are liaising with schools, to provide a reassurance to the public.
