A raft of solar panels have been added to the newest part of Salisbury District Hospital, as part of a push to improve sustainability.

The installation on the roof of the Elizabeth Building, that's due to open this summer, comes as air source heat pumps are also added for the purpose built ward.

The measures have been shown off to pupils from Salisbury Cathedral School, during a visit to teach the Year 8s about the green credentials on site.

The children also helped to plant some 'colourful rainbow borders' around the grounds of the hospital.

That's been to 'brighten and add variety' to the flowerbeds, but to also encourage biodiversity.
