Salisbury District Hospital is giving us another chance to see some little known parts of the site, and learn more about their work.

Following the success of their first ever Open Day last summer, the NHS Foundation Trust is planning another event on Saturday 8th June.

Around 700 people went along last time, for a behind-the-scenes look at hospital life.

The day will include fun activities, the popular toy outpatient clinic and careers information.

Children can take a toy along to the SDH Open Day to get them some medical 'treatment'

Teams from across the hospital will also demonstrated their services, such as the Simulation Suite with its hi-tech life-like simulation manikins.

Chief Executive Lisa Thomas said:

“Everyone at the Trust is excited to welcome visitors of all ages once again to visit and witness many of the fascinating things that go on in our hospital and find out more about what we do to provide quality care to our patients. We are delighted to be able to provide fun and entertainment for the whole family at what will be a really fun community event, if last year is anything to go by!”

Blue light services will be present with vehicles and crews to talk about their work on the front line, with live music and activities for children also planned.

The Open Day will be held 10.00am to 3.00pm on Saturday 8th June.

Parking on site will be free for the event.
