There's a warning about a possible scam or rogue trader incidents in the Quidhampton area, on the edge of Salisbury.

Police tell us two men went to a house on Tuesday this week (4th June), claiming to be from Wiltshire Council, offering to do gardening work.

The resident refused the work and asked them to leave, but became persistent.

No money was handed over and the men did eventually leave.

But the incident's prompted officers to warn people locally to be vigilant, and especially to look out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours.

We're encouraged to only allow work at home if we've arranged it, and to get a number of quotes before agreeing to go ahead.

Wiltshire Police is also asking us to report suspicious incidents by calling 101, or 999 if it's in progress.
