Salisbury's Sprinkles scoops top marks for food hygiene after big turnaround
It follows an inspection earlier this year

Sprinkles in Salisbury has seen a huge turnaround after their latest food hygiene rating.
The ice-cream parlour has been given a 5 for hygiene, the highest rating by the Food Standards Agency following a recent inspection.
It means its standards are 'very good.'
In July last year, the store on New Canal was given a zero and told urgent improvement was needed.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Public Health & Public Protection said:
“After a routine inspection by Wiltshire Council officers in July 2021 revealed multiple hygiene contraventions, the business was issued a Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) rating of zero. We have been working with the new management team, conducting further visits and the non-compliances that were first found in the July visit are now being complied with.
“Under the FHRS, rules do not permit a change to the food hygiene rating as a result of an officer revisiting a food business. However, the business operator is at liberty to apply for a further unannounced re-rating inspection, an option which was taken up by this particular food business.
“A further unannounced inspection took place on 7 January revealing that the improvements had been maintained, and the rating awarded at this latest inspection is confirmed as FHRS 5.”
The New Canal shop was also given a zero rating in May 2019 before closing suddenly in January 2020.
It reopened seven months later under new management.
Sprinkles has been approached for a comment.
