Richard Browning, the Harnham man who created the very first "jet suit", got to put his creation to the test against an electric car.

He appeared on Sunday night's episode of Top Gear where he was put in a race vs an electric car, driven by presenter Freddie Flintoff.

Their challenge was to see who could get to the wind turbine at the top of a snowy hill in Neath in Wales.

Flintoff was driving an electric SUV while Richard was using his "jet suit".

Richard's 'Gravity Industries' launched the jet pack in 2017 in Coombe Bissett.

Since then he has been dubbed the 'real life Tony Stark' and has gained global recognition for his invention.

The former Royal Marine reservist's futuristic suit has been seen by over a billion people across the world, including 250 school children on Salisbury Cathedral School's lawn in December 2018.

He also jetted in to help out Chilmark charity Serve On with training exercise last September.

It uses six ECU kerosene microturbines, a HUD system, Wi-Fi data linkage, fuel air detection, graphene composites and an airbag system.

Richard beat Freddie in the challenge.
