TV star to host Salisbury Valuation Day for Wiltshire Air Ambulance
A similar event in March raised £2k for life-saving helicopter charity
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is hosting a charity valuation day in Salisbury - with help from a TV auctioneer star.
We can take our heirlooms and valuable items to the latest Valuation Day at the Salisbury Guildhall on Sunday 29th September, before they get auctioned off to raise money for the charity.
A similar event was held in March this year, helping raise £2,000 for the Air Ambulance.
To perform it's life saving work, the charity needs to raise £4.5m each year.
Our items will be valued by Paul Martin, who appears on tv show Flog It!, and is an ambassador for the Air Ambulance.
Mr Martin and other experts will use their experience to value items for a suggested donation up to £2.
The items that go on to be sold will benefit the charity as auction house Henry Aldridge & Son has agreed to donate all of it's vendors commission to the charity.
Andrew Aldridge, the fourth generation auctioneer to head up Henry Aldridge & Son, said: “We are delighted to be working with Wiltshire Air Ambulance again at this community valuation event, following the huge success in Devizes earlier this year.
“Visitors will have the opportunity to pick the brains of one of our experts and, if they wish, sell their item or items through Henry Aldridge & Son during two days of auctions for antiques, collectables and silver on 25 and 26 October. Then 100 per cent of the sellers’ commission will be going to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, a local charity that is so close to our hearts.”
Wiltshire Air Ambulance fundraising manager Fraser Normington said: “We’re very thankful to Paul and Henry Aldridge & Son Ltd for organising this second Valuation Day of the year.
“It’s great that we’re able to take it south of the county into Salisbury and I’m sure it will prove just as popular as in March.
“We look forward to seeing everyone there and hopefully it raises lots of money for those getting their items valued and also our lifesaving service.”
Entry to the Valuation Day is free, but we are encouraged to pre-book a space to avoid queuing on the day.
There are two timed entry options of 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm.
