The mass vaccination centre at Salisbury City Hall has temporarily closed from today (Thursday 1st April) until the 12th of April.

It's due to a shortage of incoming vaccines this month.

The government announced last month that a series of delays could affect vaccines in the UK in April.

REASSURANCE CLOSURE WON'T SLOW PROGRESS DOWN

Gill May, Director of Nursing and Quality, said:

"We always knew that the vaccination rollout would require us to be flexible, and this is just one way in which we are adapting our current way of working.

We have made already made excellent progress in providing the vaccine to half our adult population, and are confident that this temporary pause will not slow us down in meeting the government’s target of offering the vaccine to all over 18s by the end of July."

The site first opened to the public on the 26th January and recently doubled its capacity enabling them to jab up to 1,000 people a day.

In March, staff and volunteers at City Hall celebrated after hitting their 20,000th jab milestone.

They hit the 20,000 milestone on the 15th March
