South Western Railway services reduced as 'high number' of staff affected by Covid-19

Some train crew are positive or self-isolating

Salisbury's rail operator has confirmed it is having to cut back on services due to the impact of coronavirus.

South Western Railway says a high number of train crew have either tested positive for Covid-19 or are self-isolating.

As of Monday this week (4th January), fewer trains are running.

The services affected include:

  • Reduction of some Salisbury to Waterloo services
  • Removal of the twice daily Salisbury to Bristol services (some services may still run, operated by Great Western Railway)

The operator has apologised to passengers - saying it will keep the situation "under constant review and continue to do all we can to provide sufficient capacity, while also keeping our customers and colleagues safe."
