Salisbury theatre school releases song supporting key workers
Performers from Starcast are thanking key workers through the power of song and dance
A Salisbury theatre school has been keeping their students busy during lockdown.
10 of the talented students from Starcast Performing Arts School have recorded a song to support key workers.
The song is titled 'I am small' and in the music video you can see the performers dressed up as nurses, chefs and porters.
It was written by the founder of the school Sam Holloway who said there was no better way to show support than through the power of song and dance:
"We wanted to record a song to show our support for the NHS, teachers, Doctors, midwives, nurses, cleaners, all the people that make the country run through the pandemic."
The group started to rehearse the song before Christmas in the studio before the third lockdown was announced.
"It was great fun because we were able to do it in the class, however since January the 1st our classes haven't been able to go back.
"So I've been rehearsing with the students via Zoom and they've done incredibly well to record themselves with the help of their mums and dads."
Starcast thought it was vital that the children keep active during the lockdown.
"We have many other things going on like family quizzes, we've just done a big video to support the arts, which is a dance video.
"We're carrying on with the lessons for all of our students and for people who aren't our students, people that just want to be entertained and inspired during this lockdown."
