The asymptomatic lateral flow testing site set up at Salisbury's Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre is closing tomorrow (Wednesday 31st March).

It's going to be replaced by a new collection point, which means that people will be able to test themselves from home.

It will now be situated at Bourne Hill in the city and you can just turn up, there's no need to book!

People who were getting the tests from the Beehive Park and Ride site can continue to pick them up from there, or choose the new site if that is more convenient.

The testing centre has been cleared from the Beehive P&R site for nearly two months now

Anyone without symptoms can go and collect a test from tomorrow between 9am and 4pm and once they carry out the swab they should get a result in around 30 minutes.

If you are positive you should then take a PCR test to confirm the result, and they can be booked via the government website.

Families with school aged children are being encouraged to go get themselves tested.

People with symptoms should not use the service and carry out a PCR test.

Kate Blackburn, Director of Public Health at Wiltshire Council, said:

"Due to the size of our county, the test collection option is much more accessible and convenient for people across Wiltshire, who may struggle to get to the locations for a booked time at our current in-person asymptomatic test sites.

The collect sites are available to anyone, but we would particularly encourage families with school aged children and their bubbles to collect tests twice weekly, in line with national guidance. School children, college students, and staff should continue to be tested at school or college.

We would also remind people that a negative lateral flow test does not guarantee that someone is not infected, and people should still continue to follow the guidance about distancing, wearing a face mask where required, and regular hand washing."

A previous review found Bourne Hill not to be fit for a station

As part of the Government's roadmap to cautiously lift restrictions, businesses of any size can register for the Government's workplace testing scheme to order free lateral flow tests for their employees.
