Salisbury Sunflowers open for summer season
The pick-your-own area is also supporting the Stars Appeal this year
Salisbury's pick-your-own sunflower field is open for their summer season - but only for a limited time.
The site, just off the A30 London Road, at the Pitton turning, is expecting to be letting visitors in until the end of the next week (around 18th August).
Anyone going along can hire secateurs on site, to choose their own sunflowers, from four varieties, and cut them down to take home.
Money raised from the secateurs hire will be going to the Pembroke Ward at Salisbury District Hospital, funded by the Stars Appeal.
That looks after cancer patients there, including the mother of the field's owner, Charlotte Harvey.
In a social media post, they've said:
"Pembroke Ward became a second home for my family while my Mum underwent treatment, so it's a pleasure to be supporting them once again to thank them for all their hard work, support and dedication."
There's some new additions to the site as well this year, including a selfie swing.
Tractor rides, picnic areas, a nature walk and fairy garden are also on site.
Time slots are available between 10.00am and 1.00pm, 1.00pm to 4.00pm and 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
Adults are £5 entry, to pick five sunflowers, with under 14s free.
