Two of our local MPs will definitely be standing again in the next general election - whenever it might be.

Salisbury's current MP John Glen has been re-selected as the constituency's Conservative candidate.

He's been the Parliamentary representative for the area since 2010.

In a statement on his social media, John Glen said:

"I was grateful to be re-adopted as the Conservative candidate for Salisbury at the next general election. In my 13 years as an MP. I have never taken the support of constituents for granted, and I will continue to work hard to represent your concerns in Westminster."

The same has happened for Andrew Murrison, who represents South West Wiltshire too.

He's been re-selected in a meeting of party members in the constituency - which includes Mere, Tisbury and the surrounding towns and villages.

Andrew Murrison said:

"It's been a privilege to serve our area and I'm grateful to my local party for readopting me as its candidate for the next election."

We don't yet know when the next general election could be held, but has to be before January 2025.
