Could your old bras in South Wiltshire help others in Africa?

Salisbury Soroptimists are holding their annual bra collection again

Author: Faye TryhornPublished 16th May 2023

A Salisbury group is calling on the city's women to give their underwear drawer a refresh, and give their old bras to them.

The city's Soroptimists are collecting gently used items, to be sent over to Africa for females who don't have access to them.

Salisbury Soroptimist members made a bit of a social out of last year's collection, and need your help again!

It's believed having something as simple as a bra can boost dignity and confidence.

Last year, the collection saw 2,527 bras sent to Ghana - where many women there have never had a bra, and any disposable income is spent on food and their children's needs.

Any donations can be taken to Five Rivers Leisure Centre in Salisbury, or 60 Endless Street in the city centre, until the end of June.
