A Salisbury jewellery shop closed for the final time yesterday ( 26th June).

Amali Jules in St Thomas's Square will leave the city after seven years trading.

Owner Lisa Davenport told Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury:

"There is only one reason we are leaving this lovely city and that is the inflated demands by the landlord and real estate agents who simply just want too much. I think this is why you will find so many businesses in Salisbury shutting down.

"The real estate agents have an inflated idea of rents and simply think that they should increase consistently.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our wonderful staff and lovely customers who have been so supportive of us over the past seven years.

"Amali Jules will continue to trade from out other store in Padstow, Cornwall."

Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury has asked Estate Agent Myddelton & Major for their response.

The closure of Amali Jules follows recent news that two independent coffee shops would be opening in Salisbury.

A wine bar is also coming to the city.
