Members of Salisbury, Wilton and District's RNLI branch have held their first collection of the year, at a Salisbury FC game.

The collection team were joined by mascot Stormy Stan at the Whites game against Poole Town at the Ray Mac.

More than £400 was raised by both sets of fans, towards the work of Mudeford's lifeboat station.

That's the closest one to Salisbury, but also based on the edge of Poole itself.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of the RNLI, with more fundraising events planned throughout 2024.

Chairman of the Branch, Ray Stedman, said:

“We are very grateful for the contributions from the home and away supporters and express our gratitude to the directors and staff of the football club for allowing us to hold the collection.

"The large attendance at the match meant that we raised considerably more than last season.”
