Salisbury RNLI golf day raises £3,0000 for charity
The money raised goes to the closest Lifeboat station in Mudeford
The Salisbury, Wilton and District Branch of the RNLI has raised over £3,000 with it’s fifth annual Charity Golf Day.
Held on 9th October at High Post Golf Club, the event saw 76 players take to the green’s to tee off, including 45 players from other clubs.
Branch Chairman Ray Stedman said “The generous sponsorship this year enabled us to return to our pre-covid standards. The arrangements at my home club were superb and my thanks go to all at the club under the guidance of our Board, General Manager Geoff Johnson and Course Manager Tom Freeman.”
The golf day was the first of three fundraising events in recent weeks, the other two seeing £1800 raised at a box collection at Tesco Extra and £900 at the charity’s Salisbury Market Stall where they sold various Christmas items.
All the money raised goes towards the closest Lifeboat Station, in Mudeford, where the money will support lifesaving activities.
2024 will see the sixth annual charity Golf day in September as the RNLI celebrates it’s 200th anniversary.
