Salisbury Reds has chosen its official good cause for 2024 and 2025, and will continue to support the Stars Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital.

The bus operator has been backing the charity for a number of years now, and will carry on raising funds and awareness for them.

The Stars Appeal needs to raise over £1 million a year to keep their work going.

David Newton, operations manager of Salisbury Reds, said:

“The Stars Appeal raises money to create the best possible experience for patients and their families by funding extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS.

“Our relationship with the charity spans more than 10 years - with many of our staff benefiting directly from the support it provides. My colleagues have voted, and I’m delighted we will once again be raising as much money as possible for this vital resource.”

Salisbury Reds will also be promoting the charity on-board and on the rear of a bus throughout their time supporting the Stars Appeal.

Consultant cardiologist and Stars Appeal ambassador Dr Tom Jackson said:

“We are so grateful that Salisbury Reds continue to provide their brilliant support for the Stars Appeal.

“They have supported us for many years and now to be their Charity of the Year is fantastic. In my department the Stars Appeal has made an incredible difference by funding a second lab in our cardiac suite and other state-of-the-art equipment. The support of Salisbury Reds will help us do even more for patients across the Hospital. Thank you so much.”
