Salisbury Reds is offering its support to local charities, schools, sports teams and events organisers, as part of a good causes initiative.

The local bus operator’s Community Fund is a dedicated resource for backing local causes with funding, marketing help, free travel or the use of its buses for events.

“At Salisbury Reds, we’re proud to play a role within the local community,” said Salisbury Reds general manager, Alex Chutter.

“As well as providing bus services across the area, we endeavour to support and raise awareness for those doing excellent work on behalf of those living here.

“The Salisbury Reds Community Fund is open to everyone - from charities to sports teams - and we encourage anyone who needs a helping hand, however big or small, to apply.”

The Community Fund is open to applicants in October. To apply, groups should visit Salisbury Reds’ website and provide details about their cause, what they need, and the difference this support might make to their organisation. Winners will be announced in November.

Previous beneficiaries include St Michael’s Community Care which was given £500 to help provide meals for people on Bemerton Heath struggling with the cost of food.

Bradbury House at Old Sarum, which provides respite care for people with learning or physical difficulties, was also supported by the bus company.

“Our Community Fund offers a fair support process and allows us to build new relationships with worthy causes across the county,” added Alex.
