Salisbury Reds has warned that bus services will be disrupted in-and-around the city today (15th September) due to significant driver absence.

General Manager Alex Chutter says they've taken a number of measures to try to minimise disruption;

“As part of the wider Go South Coast company, we have been able to mitigate the effects of this disruption by bringing drivers in from our sister operator in Swindon.

“Many of our managers are also out driving today, in order to keep as many services running as possible."

Issues with IT systems are also causing problems, that's understood to be connected to the cybe attack the Go Ahead Group suffered earlier this month.

Mr Chutter hopes those will be resolved shortly

He's apologised for the disruption passenger face;

"I realise this is far from ideal for our customers, who will be inconvenienced by a reduced level of service, and I would like to thank them, in advance, for their patience and understanding.

“My colleagues who are out driving today are doing their very best to keep the city moving, and I know those travelling with us will appreciate their efforts. We are working hard to get our full level of service back up-and-running as soon as we possibly can.”

Services affected include the R1 and Park & Ride network. The X4 service will also be slightly reduced.

Petersfinger Park and Ride

Salisbury Reds will be updating its website and app to reflect the changes. The operator will also provide regular updates via its social media channels.
