Salisbury Reds bus attacked for second time in a week
The two incidents have happened in the same area
For the second time in one week a Salisbury Reds bus has had a window smashed.
They took to Twitter yesterday afternoon (Thursday 15th April) to say that objects had been thrown at the vehicle in the Saint Michaels Road area of the city.
It comes after a similar incident in the same area happened on Tuesday (13th April).
Salisbury Reds have since confirmed that the objects thrown were ball bearings and no one was hurt.
Richard Gagg, Salisbury Reds operations manager, said:
"Sadly, we have seen a repeat of Tuesday's vandalism - with another R1 bus serving Bemerton Heath hit by a ball bearing, which smashed a back window.
Thankfully, nobody was injured but I have taken the decision, once again, to suspend services to some stops.
Buses are now following a diversion and are not currently stopping at Coronation Rd, Tournament Rd, St Michael's Rd or Herbert Road.
We are reviewing CCTV in a bid to identify the perpetrators, and are being assisted by police - who are increasing their presence in the area. We will reinstate the service as soon as we can.
I would like to apologise for this inconvenience, but the safety of our customers and drivers is paramount."
