Salisbury Police engaging with young children at Playschool visit
The children were learning about 'People Who Help Us'
A pair of police officers have visited a playschool in Broad Chalk to engage with young children as part of their learning about ‘People Who Help Us’.
PCSO Jonathan Rose and PC Luke Lo Bianco spent an hour on Tuesday morning with the children, showing them around the police van and police car.
PCSO Rose said: “When it comes to young children of their age, we use a different approach to engage with them. This is so they feel if they ever need police, we are approachable and are there to help.
“We would want all children of that age to feel safe in their community and be confident in approaching an officer if they don’t feel safe.”
The children were allowed to press the sirens and put the blue lights on, which the children all wanted to be sat inside the car for.
The officers chose to arrest one of the teachers for having everyone tidy up the toys before the officers arrived and there was also time for a game of hide and seek with the police radios.
PCSO Rose added: “I think it was safe to say the children enjoyed themselves.”
