Police in Salisbury have been stepping up their patrols this week, in an effort to tackle shoplifting.

They've been visiting premises in the city centre and spent a day going to retailers along Southampton Road too.

Two people were arrested on Wednesday afternoon (18th October) on suspicion of theft.

They'd been found with items reported stolen from a store in Salisbury city centre.

The pair remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Officers say they'll be out again for the rest of this week in other areas of Salisbury.
