It's all part of the job, chasing criminals, or chasing Llamas.

The early part of the week was going well. On Tuesday (6 April) PCSO Matt Smith carried out bike patrols across his Wilton rural beat, taking time out to support the local Community SpeedWatch volunteers in Quidhampton.

On Wednesday PC Mark Douglas joined PCSO Smith for some patrols of Nomansland Recreation ground following recent reports of Anti-Social Behaviour.

LLAMA ON THE LOOSE

Then, something odd happened. Both were called to respond and deal with an escaped Llama in Teffont.

It was initially misidentified as an Alpaca, but Mark and Matt set about chasing and catching the runaway!

LLAMA CHASE

A running Llama can reach speeds of up to 35mph.

They are big animals too. A fully grown Llama is usually around 6 feet tall and can weigh up to 450 pounds.

Following a brief pursuit, Mark and Matt managed to catch up with the Llama and are pleased to report the Llama was safely returned to its owner.
