The force are doing it to try and help reduce the numbers of bikes being stolen.

Salisbury Neighbourhood Team will be at Five Rivers Leisure Centre between 900am -1100am and then again in the Guildhall Square between 1330pm-1530pm where they will be offering free chemical etching to identify your bike.

You can then register the marks made on the national website Bike Register.

Officers will also be offering security advice about bikes.

Social distancing measures will be in operation at both locations and must be adhered to at all times.

A similar bike marking event held in Amesbury in June proved a hit with more than 60 cycles marked.
