The stars of Salisbury Playhouse's pantomime Sleeping Beauty have been spreading some festive cheer for patients at the District Hospital.

Wiltshire Creative and the Stars Appeal charity arranged the visit, as the cast have their busiest weekend of the run ahead of Christmas.

Patients have been greeted by Princess Stella, played by Lottie Mae O'Kill, along with fellow cast members Brandon Thompson and Bella Donald.

Some of the cast of Sleeping Beauty at Salisbury Playhouse have spent time with District Hospital patients

It's been part of a programme by the Stars Appeal to bring live music, theatre performances, storytelling, poetry and more to the Hospital, with the aim of lifting spirits on the wards.

The activities are all funded through our support of the charity.

Stars Appeal Live Co-ordinator, Rebecca Seymour said:

“It was fantastic to welcome cast members from Sleeping Beauty who brought lots of joy and festive magic to patients and staff at the Hospital. This was a wonderful addition to our Stars Appeal Live programme this Christmas, which is all about brightening up a patient’s day with music and creative activities.

"We are so grateful to the cast and Wiltshire Creative for their time and support to make Christmas extra special at Salisbury Hospital and to the Stars Appeal donors who provide the funding to make visits like these possible.”

The run of Sleeping Beauty goes on until the New Year, with the busiest shows taking place this weekend

Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative, Gareth Machin said:

“Being a part of the Salisbury community is an important part of our values and work at Wiltshire Creative and we are delighted to share a bit of pantomime magic at Salisbury District Hospital this Christmas.”

Sleeping Beauty continues at Salisbury Playhouse until 12th January.
