Salisbury plastic surgeon avoids jail for possessing child abuse images
Mansoor Khan, 54, has been given a suspended sentence
A plastic surgeon from Salisbury has been sentenced for possessing more than 100 images of child sex abuse.
54 year old Mansoor Khan of Ridgeway Road was found guilty during a trial in December last year.
He's now been handed an eight month jail term, suspended for 24 months, as well as being placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
Khan has also been given a five year sexual harm prevention order.
He had a total of 106 illegal images in categories A to C on his phone and a computer hard drive, with nearly a third of them in the most serious category A.
During his trial, he denied the charges against him, telling the court he'd got the images through a Snapchat contact, with no intention of promoting, sharing or storing the images.
Khan worked at Salisbury District Hospital when the offences occurred, but we're told none of them relate to any of his patients.
He was dismissed from the NHS Trust last year.
