The parkrun around Churchill Gardens in Salisbury has celebrated its 333rd event since launching in 2015.

On Saturday, more than 300 participants arrived for the landmark run, which starts 9am every Saturday morning, whatever the weather.

Over the eight years of being held, the parkrun has seen in excess of 14,000 people take part, some who run, whilst others stride, jog or power-walk.

Event director Jef Hutchby said: “We try to cater for everyone,” adding: “We have locals, of course, and regularly have runners from as far away as Australia, and North America. Some are fast elite runners, but most are here to keep fit and have fun.”

Mr Hutchby was quick to thank the volunteers who help put the event on each week, whether it be organisational help or stewarding. “We have had 972 volunteers since the start in 2015 and between them they have volunteered 10,797 times,” he said.

There are seven parkruns held across Wiltshire, with this being the sole event in Salisbury.
