Salisbury's popular parkrun has been cancelled tomorrow (Saturday 14th January).

The course at Churchill Gardens has been affected by flooding from the River Avon, which runs through the park.

The water levels are spilling onto the pathways that normally make up the Salisbury parkrun course

It's the second week in a row that the 5K has had to be called off.

A statement's been posted on their Facebook page:

Organisers say they've taken the decision to cancel due to the need to make the course accessible to all participants.

The Salisbury parkrun regularly attracts hundreds of people, to run, jog and walk the course.

Churchill Gardens also hosts the 2K Junior parkrun on Sundays.

It's hoped that will still be going ahead, as a comment from their committee explains:

"Junior is on at this stage with a slight amendment to the course. We are keeping an eye on water levels and any updates will be posted on our Facebook page."
