Salisbury nursery school rated 'inadequate' by Ofsted

Spire View has received the status from inspectors

Published 13th Jan 2023

A nursery in Salisbury has been rated inadequate by Ofsted - after it found "children's health, safety and well-being are being compromised".

The report into Spire View Nursery on Burford Road says it's still not safeguarding children to an effective degree after it received a complaint about its standards in September.

The inspection mentions children being able to leave and re-enter the building without staff noticing, and drinking dirty water from puddles while staff watched.

The site was given areas to improve with a regulatory visit carried out on 5th January 2023.

That found some safeguarding and welfare issued had been resolved, but not all of them.

They also noted that 'the provider had not implemented procedures for the supervision of staff' - and were served with a legal notice to take action to remedy that.

That needs to be completed by 20th January.

The nursery, which caters for 0 to 4 years olds, was previously rated as 'good' in their previous inspection.

We're approached Spire View Nursery for a comment.
