The mass vaccination centre at City Hall Salisbury is temporarily pausing for 11 days during April.

From Thursday 1st to Sunday 11th no jabs will be administered at the site, due to the expected shortage of incoming vaccines.

The clinicians currently based at the venue will use their skills in other environments during this time.

Anyone who was booked in for the beginning of next month will be contacted and offered an alternative appointment slot at the earliest possible date.

The vaccination stations will be quiet during the first 11 days of April

Gill May, Director of Nursing and Quality, said:

"We always knew that the vaccination rollout would require us to be flexible, and this is just one way in which we are adapting our current way of working.

We have made already made excellent progress in providing the vaccine to half our adult population, and are confident that this temporary pause will not slow us down in meeting the government’s target of offering the vaccine to all over 18s by the end of July."

Earlier this month, staff and volunteers at City Hall were celebrating after hitting their 20,000th jab milestone.

The site first opened to the public on the 26th January and had been vaccinating around 450 people a day.

They hit the 20,000 milestone on the 15th March

However, they have now been able to double their capacity after opening more stations.
