A Salisbury man's been jailed for 12 months, following a high-speed 'dangerous' police pursuit in the city.

46 year old David Wells admitted dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance, at a Salisbury Crown Court hearing on Friday (14th April).

Wells, from Glyndebourne Close in Bemerton Heath, was driving along Western Way on November 17th when he saw a marked police car.

He made off, along a pavement, with officers them pursuing him.

During the chase, along Wilton Road and towards Salisbury Racecourse, Wells made 'many dangerous manoeuvres' including solid white line overtakes, driving on the wrong side of the road, excess speed and going through red lights.

As well as the prison sentence, Wells has also been banned from driving for four and a half years.
