Salisbury man arrested for string of driving offences

He was stopped by Police in Downton and tested for drug-driving

Officers from Team 5 of Wiltshire's Community Policing Team and Response spotted an un-roadworthy vehicle being driven in Downton on Thursday (26 Sept).

The driver, a 23-year-old male from Salisbury, was arrested for a number of offences.

He is suspected of driving over a prescribed limit of a specified controlled drug

Driving whilst disqualified

Driving a motor vehicle without insurance

The vehicle was also found to be using a space saver wheel which should be used for emergencies only. The tread was recorded as being 0.5mm despite the legal limit being 1.6mm.

The suspect currently remains in custody.
