Salisbury Live launches with mini-festival at River Bourne Community Farm
It's the start of four weekends of live music around South Wiltshire
The latest set of Salisbury Live music events kicks off today (Sunday 28th May) - with a mini festival at the River Bourne Community Farm.
The Laverstock venue's hosting two stages of acts from 2.30pm, including both local original bands and covers artists.
The main stage is being headlined by David Bowie tribute, Aladdin Sane.
Three more weekends of live music will follow, with much of it free to go along to.
The events include:
- Saturday 3rd June - Picnic in the Park at Alderbury Rec, from 2.00pm to 10.00pm - with The Norfolks, Evolution Choir, Brodie Risby & Friends, The Consultancy and Train to Skaville on the bill. That event's free entry

Colin Holton organises the Salisbury Live events and says there's a real appetite for people to get involved:
"(The venues) have sprung out of Covid really, and a lot of them have reinvented themselves. No-one's got any money, and the artists know that, but they want to get out and play and people want to get out and have a good time.
"We've got a lot of talent in Salisbury and District, we're never short of acts to perform, and the good thing at the moment is there's a lot of original music coming up.
"A lot of these (events) are fundraisers to keep Salisbury Live afloat - so it's been a labour of love and I've often thought about 'why am I doing it again' but if someone else did it, I'd get jealous, so I carry on out of spite!"
