The full line-up's been revealed by Wiltshire Creative for this year's Salisbury International Arts Festival.

2024 marks 50 years since the Festival was first held, with a two week programme planned from Sunday 26th May to Sunday 9th June.

Activities will kick off with the popular City Encounters - taking performers and street theatre around the city centre.

The City Encounters day, which kicks off the Arts Festival, will see performances across Salisbury city centre, that families can watch for free

That day will also include Patch's Parade, a community led event which will see large puppets taking on a journey around Salisbury.

Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative Gareth Machin said:

“The Salisbury International Arts Festival lies at the epicentre of our programming, and we’re proud to bring a wealth of talent to the region with a diversity of programming for all. This year’s Wiltshire Creative’s summer season is no different, and offers a breadth of programming from spoken word, music, circus and dance events right in the heart of Salisbury.

"We’re bringing back the popular City Encounters, an event which not only brings the community together but showcases the wonderful talent we have in the city. It’s set to be a summer to remember!”

The full festival programme also includes a number of big names from the worlds of comedy, music, literature and theatre.

There's 'in conversation' events with novelist Anthony Horowitz, BBC Americast host Justin Webb, former Labour politician turned author Alan Johnson, and BAFTA-nominated actress Juliet Stevenson.

The Best of Gilbert and Sullivan will entertain Salisbury Playhouse visitors, as will a night with the Clare Teal Seven, or West End star Barbara Dickson.

Comedy events come from the likes of David Baddiel, Punt and Dennis, Ruby Wax and Sophie Duker.

The Salisbury International Arts Festival sees events popping up just about anywhere in the city!
